The DILG Memorial Scholarship is designed to assist middle and high school students in furthering their musical skills through music lessons.
Mrs. Grier taught music in the schools, churches, and community for over 40 years.
Join us each 1st Saturday in July for our annual Grier Music Fest in Historic Idlewild Michigan. From 1:00pm to 6:00pm we offer free world class jazz, blues, R&B, gospel and entertainment in an effort to remember the legacy of Dorothy Grier. Grier World CC also offers cultural and historical venues for entertainment, education, edification, and pure enjoyment.
From community service days in Idlewild MI to the annual music festival and alumni basketball game, we have committed our time, money, and resources to bettering our World. Cultural trips to South Africa and Sapporo Japan, educational assemblies in local school districts and historical plays for senior citizens are a part of our regular rhythm of shaping the world.
Created for the 100th anniversary of Historic Idlewild, MI in 2012, daughter of Idlewild, Gezelle Grier-Myers wrote the musical My Idlewild.
Featuring original music, historical and cultural prose, this multiple sell-out event can come to your town.

Starting as a memorial service during Covid for our mother Dorothy Grier, we have created a network of service of things she championed.
We are here because you have joined us. We invite you to give toward the Musical Scholarship, or the Free Music Festival that generates funds for the scholarship and showcases current and past winners.
1. To form and maintain an organization to create and foster a spirit of understanding of and for marginalized people especially those from the African Diaspora.
2. To promote the principles of self esteem and Black cultural excellence to be a model for all peoples.
3. To take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the Lake County community.
4. To establish, oversee, promote and continue the Dorothy Irene Lee Grier Musical Memorial Scholarship.
5. To provide a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest regarding the intersection of historically marginalized peoples culture and arts.
6. To provide and promote the creation, exploration, propagation, and distribution of all forms of cultural music, theater and art toward enriching individuals, families, communities & the world.
